Nissan Sunderland would play host to round 3 which would consist of a high speed custom course as used at allot of venues now. It’s a huge move to start working with Nissan Manufacturing UK (NMUK).We have now found the proper partners within Nissan to showcase Professional drifting in the Northeast with Nissan and bring a great show to the region.
“This is our third year now coming back to the northeast of the UK. The strength of the brand has continued with another capacity audience as our Newcastle/Sunderland/Scottish fans are that passionate about the sport. Its great the support we get up here” said Niall Gunn Director/Co-Founder of JDM Allstars.
Immediately out of practice it was evident that Luke Fink was hungry for his first win of the season. All team Driftworks looked very strong as ever as did the return of Martin Ffrench in the neuton tyres S14A .Round 1 winner Jon Calvert rebuilt his Nissan S13 over the week to make sure he would be performing infront of his home crowd .
Round 3 showcased lots of great drivers changing there setups to accomdate this new course over the saturday oractice session. One big upset on the Sunday morning was A three car pileup involving Luke Fink and the two Driftworks cars, putting Phil Morrison’s car out of action.

Top 16
Notable Battles where between Dwayne McKeever and Matt Steele, where Dwayne’s sheer speed gained him an advantage in his OMT battle against Steele.
George Tilling beat Northeast wildcard driver John Glaister. Big props to George qualifying so high in the most under powered car there.
Alan McCord beat Steve will in his battle after his rear differential failed. Dan Chapman beat Anthony Scott. Jon Calvert defeated Walton Smith in the JPP Subaru after a great display on its debut.
Luke Fink, Bon Bon, Martin French all took easy wins sending them through to the great 8.
Top 8
Alan McCord Vs Dan Chapman-In what was one of the tightest battles of the weekend, both high powered Nissans pushed each to the edge of their grip levels getting every last bit of power out of their car. With nothing between them a one more time was called and Chapman got the slightest of advantages deemed by the judges enough to send him into the Final four for the third round in a row.
Bon Bon Vs Jon Calvert was another tight battle. Both drivers now pushing really hard. Jon with it all to prove in front of his home crowd. The lead run by Bon Bon gives him a slight advantage but when chasing Jon on his return run through the transisition the Driftworks driver spins giving the win Jon Calvert and sending him into the final four. Later we find out the power steering belt snapped in the Driftworks R32
Luke Fink Vs George tilling was another interesting battle.Championship contender vs wildcard driver and probably driver of the weekend getting every ounce of power out of his underpowered R32.Finks grip and power and speed was too much for tilling and Fink was through to the Final 4.
Dwayne McKeever Vs Martin Ffrench was very close also. Dwayne hungry to score some good points due to upsets in rounds 1-2 and Ffrench keen to add to his point’s .With the runs so tight in the first battle it had to run to a one more time. These battles where even closer with both drivers’ inches apart. At the end of each battle Mckeevers car was starting to overheat .In the end it was Martin Ffrench that went through.

In the final it was Luke Fink 2009 Australian Drift champion in his Severnside Imports/LBD/Marangoni Tyres against Round 1 winner Jon Calvert in his Neuton Tyres S13. After a hard fought battle by both title contenders Fink took his first European win after 3 events.
