JDM All stars is kicking off its adrenaline fuelled drift tour this weekend at the Nissan Plant with the JDM All stars North East supported by the Road Respect Campaign.   Drifting is currently Europe’s fastest growing motorsport. Originally from Japan it has grown rapidly in the UK and the North East will be getting in on the action on the 3rd and 4th of July.  JDM will kick off qualifying on Saturday of there series on this custom built street course.  JDM All stars working with Road Respect to show that high-octane fun and safe driving do not have to compete with each other. The event will also include Monster Trucks, FMX, car displays and more. Tickets and information available at www.jdmallstars.com   Niall Gunn from JDM Allstars said “This is a one of a kind event, and we’re looking forward to the event.  We want people in the North East to experience the art of drifting and all the extreme sports at the event.  This will be an extreme event and we’re excited about all the support and positive comments so far. Working with road respect again for 2010 we are aiming to increase Road Respects Presence in the North east and hit there target market through JDM Allstars Events”  Jeremy Forsberg from Road Respect said, “Road Respect is looking to take part in the JDM Allstars Drift Event at Nissan on 3 & 4 July 2010. Motor sports are engaging, should be fun and can be exciting, but there is a time and a place.  We want everyone to recognize the guys out on the track are complete professionals and incredibly skilled. It’s a great opportunity for our campaign to engage with many people interested in motoring and what better way than with one of the most energetic and exciting motor sports around. We hope people learn a lot about driving skills, car control and to show that you can be legal and safe and still have fun at the same time. “ Earlier Road Respect teamed up with JDM Allstars and drift driver Anthony “Scotty” Scott to bring some high energy excitement with Krash TV at www.krashtv.co.uk, with the latest episode featuring Scotty displaying the drift ballet.   Ends Note to editors:  The Northumbria Safer Roads Initiative consists of Gateshead Council, Newcastle Council, Northumberland Council, South Tyneside Council, North Tyneside Council, Sunderland Council, Northumbria Police, Newcastle University, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Services, Her Majesty’s Court Service and the Highways Agency.       Road Respect and Safe Speed for Life are run by the NSRI to educate drivers about the dangers of speeding and anti-social behaviour on the roads.  Both have been given support from Brake road safety charity and LARSOA, in order to prevent road casualties.  Benfield Motor Group, Evans Halshaw, Kia and Chevrolet, Smart of Newcastle, Gateshead College’s Automotive Centre of Excellence, Premium Bars and Leisure, Robertshaw Racing and RTM provided additional support.
