Some people have heard the name, he can be remembered for his hard charging maximum attack driving style.

People remember the name from two years ago, when he dominated drifting at both Rockingham and Silverstone Pro Competitions

JDM caught up with Martin Ffrench on a cold morning at Mondello Park.

Ffrenchy is testing his new 2008 Spec Car, and gave us a few words
on the fast opening 2008 season.

JDM: Where have you been the past two years, missing from the UK Scene
MF: I have been trying to build up my business and doing some drifting
in Europe and Ireland.

JDM: Are you looking forward to 2008, competing in JDM .What Venues are you really looking forward to
MF: I have never been to Teesside and heard it’s a cool track. Wembley will be cool with the street course in the capital, which can only be good for the sport.

JDM: What’s been your motorsport backround.And how did you getinto drifting.
MF: My motorsport background has been rallying. I did my first rally when I was 18. I got into drifting because of my friend ,a guy called Julian Smith.He wouldn’t leave me alone until I got something rear wheel drive.

JDM: What has been your career highlight
MF: My career highlight was winning in Silverstone against Smith, after being rerun 4 times. I have had loads of other highlights, Punchestown against Darren McNamara, when I won the PD European Round.

JDM: Who do you rate as the best driver in Europe/UK at the moment and why
MF: That would be hard to say because there are so many good and evenly matched drivers but that’s what makes this sport so good.

JDM:What driver would you most like to battle
MF: I reckon every twin battle will be a challenge so bring them on one at a time. I love to be up against the best because you always learn something new.

JDM: Any car changes for 2008 Will you be running your S14 or S15
MF: Ill be running the S14 for most of the year id say we might bring out the S15 towards the end of the year.

JDM: What makes drifting the ultimate sport
MF: It is the ultimate sport because it is entertaining to watch and shows awesome car control. You have to drive the car on the edge to be the best.

JDM: What are you career aims in professional drifting
MF: To win the Prodrift European championship and be the best I can in every Event. To win JDM would be great as well it’s the best mix of drivers in the UK by far.

JDM: Why do you use the color yellow on your cars, any particular reason
MF: Because it’s different and stands out. You have to be different to be noticed in drifting, and combine that with some crazy driving.
